House of Three Hands were formed in September 2010.
They are made of:
Alex Brown, Bass+Vocals.
Jake Wedgwood, Guitar+Backing Vocals.
Teo Castelvecchi, Drums.
They entered the gigging scene in November 2010 taking the first chance of a performance they could get, they ended up in a clothes shop named "Threads".
The band released a self titled EP in May and held the album launch at The Brickyard, Carlisle. The event also featured performances from "Birds vs. Planes" and the recently disbanded "Meanwhile in Switzerland". The EP launch was a success. The building was packed, the crowd was sensational and the EP was sold out by the end of the night.
In May 2011 Alex stumbled upon a chance encounter with Radio 1 DJ Chris Moyles which lead to the bands track "Room 502" being played on his breakfast show and a small talk about the band leaving them with 8 minutes of airtime.
Moyles stated "He (Alex) was so bad at promoting his band, he made me want to listen!."
Since then the band has progressed rapidly appearing at Venues such as:
The Brickyard.
Manchester Academy 3.
Manchester Club Academy.
The Zanzibar.
Whitehaven Civic Hall.
The Source.
The Band made there festival debut at The Whitehaven Festival in 2011 where they headlined the CFM stage. They are also due to be playing on the mainstage at Solfest 2011 as well as other local festivals such as Cockrock, Beckfest, Silloth Music and Beer Festival and many others.
The band have performed with artists such as Kid British, The Futureheads, Detroit Social Club and The Lottery Winners and are due to play alongside Carl Barat, The Stranglers, Wilko Johnson and Johnny Foreigner in the current year. The band have also featured on the same bill as Madness, Razorlight, Funeral For A Friend, The Gallows and Steve Harley and Cockney Rebel.
For every gig out of Cumbria the band has had they've always tried to help their local fans get down to the gig. The method... A 50 seater bus there and back, unlimited drink and tickets to the gig.
"For everyone who's been on the TRIP/GIG/SESH bus with us we'd like to thank you for making every trip as epic as they've all been and we hope you enjoyed it as much as we did. We couldn't ask for a better fan base. For those of you who haven't had the opportunity to ride the bus, keep your eye out for the next one, you won't want to miss it!"
The band are set to record a 10 track album over the summer of 2011 and hopefully will have a physical product to distribute by Christmas.
