Ian Smith has been performing comedy for more than three years and in that time has caught the eye with his style of downbeat observations and uniquely warped trains of thought. Having won the Newbury Comedy Festival’s competition ‘You Must Be Joking’ in 2009, Ian has gone on to cement his reputation as one of the brightest young comics around, placing second in Comedy Central’s student competition and appearing in the final of Chortle’s student competition in 2010 for the second time. As well being a very funny emerging stand-up, Ian is also a noted writer, with a degree in scriptwriting, and will be running work-in-progress performances of a new one-man monologue during the 2010 Fringe.
