Ian's DJ career was sparked off 13 years ago playing at small parties, bars, clubs in his local area of Surrey. The youngest of 4 brothers, Ian's oldest brother was his main influence, teaching him to DJ as young as 8 years old. Seeing his brother perform, motivated him to aspire to become a working DJ as his brother had always done. It was upon reaching opportunities to be thrown in at the deep end through his brothers industry contacts that he began to make a name for himself in clubs like; Ministry of sound, Pacha London, SE-ONE, Plan B (Brixton), Inigo, in particular Turnmills where Ian's playing abilities were recognized by high profile promotors leading on to him playing sets in Ibiza and many more high profile London events.
The next year on the circuit had been specially important to him since he had the opportunity to spin alongside Sebastien Leger, S.O.S Desyn Masiello, Demi ad Omid16b, Tim Sheridan, Steve Lawler, Darrius Syrossian, Nyra, Reset Robot, Burnski, Jordan Peak, Krafty Kuts, The Japanese Popstars, X-press 2, Sarah Main, Saytek Live, Hoxton Whores, Lottie, Norman Jay and many more industry heavyweights.
From playing the London circuit and returning from Ibiza in the summer of 2009 his career stepped up a notch as Ian teamed up with Alex Maxwell, another local Surrey bred DJ talent. The two had been almost identically shadowing each other in the gigs they did, the people they knew and the music they played. The two collaborated to form the branded clubbing experience; EIVISSA SOUL as a means of cultivating a following that would ultimately attend their sets around the London clubbing circuit... Little did they know that what they created as an honest venture spawn from a love for House music, would soon grow to supersede their need to play the circuit.
The EIVISSA SOUL brand was formed with inspiration drawn from their experiences playing the London and European circuit and supported by a team of like-minded music aficionados, resident DJs, freelance management/PR agents, all fashioned by the love of the scene, and all sharing the same values and endeavour; to show people real house music, showcasing fresh DJ talent and growing a strong marketable brand.
With a predominantly organic deep and tech house sound, similar to that of Cadenza, Monique Musique, Cecille and Moon Harbour to name just a few of the many inspirations, and a vibrant clubbing atmosphere, Eivissa Soul has captured the heart of hedonistic Ibiza style clubbing.
This has since been demonstrated in over 50 notable events, spanning the past 3 years and recently culminating with a newly acquired residency under the infamous railway arches of Cargo, in the heart of East London’s musical metropolis that is Shoreditch. These monthly events consistently have attracted heaving terraces and main-room dance floors, assembling diverse yet like-minded clubbers to party for hours upon end, to the finest and most exclusive underground house sounds.
After putting on some very successful events not only at Cargo but also at McQueen's, Supper Club in Notting Hill, Warehouse parties and more Ian decided to start putting all his time in producing. With that he then teamed up with a very well respected artist/Producer Ian Geeves. Being a Guildford boy also they could meet every week and get down to business quickly so they called themselves Confined Copy and had tracks recently signed by very well respected label giants Planet Acetate. Dj'ing together and already residents at local house night Virunga also started by ian they then played alongside Ben Pearce, Denney, The Climbers to name but a few and still to this day carry on.
However Ian has now started to produce on his own.
Already getting sounds liked and favourites in social networking sites and tracks being played by DJs out there, Ian has his sights set and is aiming high.
