Inner Voices is a youth chamber choir based in London. Set up in 2011 the choir brings together great singers from a group of London schools to sing music from across the genre boundaries under the direction of Ralph Allwood and Ed Watkins. Since 2011 we have sung across London and had as much fun performing Spem In Alium by the skate park in the South Bank as we did A Soulful Celebration in the Union Chapel. We’ve been heard on Radio 4, Classic FM, in the Albert Hall, Natural History Museum and have just finished recording our first commercial (who for currently under wraps…).
On Monday May 4th we sang in the warm up to Citizens UK’s General Election Assembly at Methodist Central Hall just before the main party leaders address the audience. The live stream is here – http://www.citizensuk.org/cukmay4_live
On Sunday April 12th we were on Radio 3 talking about our upcoming concerts and you can hear the broadcast here if you missed it: http://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/b05qdtw6
The schools which we draw our pupils from include:
Bishop Thomas Grant(Streatham), Lambeth Academy (Clapham), Regent High School (King’s Cross), Oasis Academy (Southbank),The Grey Coat Hospital (Westminster), Pimlico Academy (Pimlico), St Marylebone (Westminster) and The West London Free School (Hammersmith).
