J Da Flex , a pivotal underground pioneer and purveyor of both UK Garage
and Dubstep is a force to be reckoned with London-side and worldwide.
Alongside Dubstep originator EL-B, J da Flex manages, produces and
performs as a key member of the legendary label - GHOST RECORDINGS.
In the beginning there was EL-B, Zed Bias, Oris Jay and Horsepower…. J da
Flex skilfully forged the Dubstep sound during his three year reign on
BBC1Xtra hosting The Underground Knowledge Show – 2002- He fully
represented the bludgeoning scene on mainstream shows such as those of
BBC Radio 1’s Dreem Team and the late great John Peel. In 2003, J gave
fellow Dubstep legend Caspa, under the pseudonym Quiet Storm, his first
break when he picked up the track 'Bass Bins' on his show) . J also
catalysed breaks for Dubchild, Voodoo, and Search & Destroy, to name a few
J da Flex drove his sound with his residency at the infamous and original
Dubstep club night FWD, together with key players such as MC Crazy D and
Hatcha.. J champions a slew of clubs and nights with his impeccable DJ
skills, including Thriller Funk, Tempo Tantrum, Fabric, Ministry of Sound
and Egg.
Unrestricted by musical genre , J da Flex’ body of DJ expertise also
includes upfront future funk,/broken beats/ bouncing breaks/tech
house/and drum & bass.
Coupled with his executive role in Ghost, J da Flex has taken up a new
residency on Ramp Radio, home to Ghost and his associate EL-B, also
Benny Ill/Horsepower, Distinction, Dasha, a host of up-coming Dubstep
talent, and a range of Electro, Minimal and Deep House DJ’s.
The Ghost camp plays host to the forthcoming release ‘Nu Levels’,
featuring work from Narrows, MRK 1, Yoof, Ramadanman… Further to that J
da Flex is channelling his irrepressible creativity into
collaborations/remixes with artists Yoof, SLT, and F-One .
