Being the son of a known d.j in the reggae sound system scene J Ellis has always had a passion for music. Born and raised in Bristol he started making & performing music in the early 2000's. Known for his raw lyricism and witty punchlines he quickly made a name for himself in the Bristol grime/hip-hop scene becoming a resident act at the Saint Paul carnival performing alongside the likes of So Solid Crew, Big Narstie and General Levy to name a few. After releasing a mixtape in 2016 J Ellis won himself a AMG award and supported one of dancehalls biggest stars (Alkaline) on his u.k tour. J Ellis was forced to step away from music due to health reasons in 2019 but is now on the mend and has performed at the LOVES SAVES THE DAY carnival 2022, SAINT PAULS CARNIVAL 2023, NASS FESTIVAL 2023 & HARBOURSIDE FESTIVAL 2023 and is back in the studio recording new music we can look forward to hearing.
