Jake Shillingford is a British singer/songwriter who is best known as the lead vocalist and chief songwriter of the spectacular My Life Story, who were for a time considered part of the mid-90s Britpop phenomenon. Jake released his first solo album, "Written Large" on 13th December 2007.
Jake also runs his own DIY record label, Exilophone records on which his new album is released, and following the initial breakup of My Life Story also found some success as the brains behind Exile Inside.
Jake performed solo at a My Life Story reunion show at Shepherd's Bush Empire on the 13th December, thus being the support act preceding his own band! This was to promote the new album which contains acoustic versions of MLS and EI tracks, as well as new material. It is not yet known what Jake's plans for the future are - whether he will continue down the solo road or head back into the studio with either MLS or EI, although rumours abound that the Shepherd's Bush gig may be the last time MLS appear live.
