Biography
JAMESIE - INTERNATIONAL DJ & PRODUCER
Could 2011 have gone any any better for Karl G & Jamesie? Firstly their Winter Warmer EP smashed the Upfront Charts, four tunes of immense quality, still rocking dance floors and air waves the world over, gathering the support off the biggest names on the planet along the way.
This was quickly followed up with their re-working of the trance classic 'Gamemaster', as they continued their Chart, Club, and Radio momentum, cracking Radio 1's daytime airplay off Scott Mills along the way, after years of Judge Jules exclusively breaking their new material, the world of dance music now knows what these boys can do.
You know you're doing something right when you're getting support off the likes of Armin Van Buuren, Paul Van Dyk, Freemasons, Gareth Emery, Judge Jules, Richard Durand, Paul Oakenfold and many many more...
And finishing it off with Can't Breathe reaching no.6 in the Upfront Charts!!
Jamesie has a unique uplifting house sound, his sets are emotional and energetic, a DJ who naturally gets the focus of the whole club using a mixture of House sub-genres that makes him truly one of a kind.
As a promoter, Jamesie has enjoyed 8 years as one of the UK's leading promoters with LOVING LIFE..., working with some of the biggest names in dance music across the UK. It was his weekly after-party - Loving Life... at Havana in Leicester, that people started to take notice of Jamesie's undeniable talent as a DJ of working a crowd into an absolute frenzy. Loving Life... became increasingly popular, becoming a regular late-night stop-off for Guest DJs of the calibre of Judge Jules, Axwell, Stonebridge, Brandon Block, as it built-up a big-name DJ A-Z guest list. Loving Life... was 'the UK's number one Friday club night' accoring to various Guest DJs, and the 'Number one night in the Midlands' according to DJ Mag. Jamesie became so popular a DJ with his weekly sets, that a monthly '6 hour Jamesie DJ' set became as big an event as the big name guests.
Away from Loving Life... Jamesie built-up an impressive DJ history, with sets at events and clubs for Hed Kandi, Miss Moneypenny, Dusted, Kissdafunk, Honeyclub, Fuel, the Criminal Clothing Annual Payback Party, Fierce Angel, Label, Wish, Bambu, and more across the UK, plus a summer residency for Born to Dance at Bora, Bora in Majorca. In the UK, week-in, week-out he had sets along the South Coast, across Wales and the West of England, became a huge name in the Midlands, and with various other sets across the UK, Jamesie's carbon footprint was huge as he travelled far-and-wide to perform.
But it was a studio effort with a record label boss and a legendary producer - Gav McCall and Paul Emanuel in 2006, that produced 'In This Silence' which caught the attention of Ministry of Sound's record label, that caused Jamesie became an increasingly regognised name on the circuit after the release on Ministry of Sound's Data Records.
2008 was a big step for Jamesie. As tthe credit crunch hit club nights became more and more difficult as a profitable business, Jamesie DJ career gathered pace, ending the year with an International reputation. With the support for Jamesie's DJing from some of the World's leading DJs -Judge Jules, Stonebridge, Brandon Block, John Kelly, Matt Jam Lamont and more, more and more promoters took notice.
'In This Silence', Jamesie's co-produced electro re-work of the classic Delirium 'Silence', went on to have huge global success topping the UK download charts, and also the Swedish Club Charts, and appeared on various compilations around the world - such as 'Ibiza Annual', 'Big Tunes', 'Ministry of Sound's Sound of the Summer' on the back of that Jamesie got invited to DJ at the Swedish launch party of Ministry of Sound at Ambassaduer, Stockholm. A typical Jamesie set rocked the club and Jamesie, and impressed Sweden's number one agent that much he was quickly signed to Umbrella Artist.
2009 Jamesie was barely been off the radio in the UK, with ‘Song At Sunrise’ 'Fiji' & ‘Dreaming’ having Radio 1 and Kiss FM plays every week.
