Jamie Beau (JAY-mee) (Boh)
Whilst some may know Jamie Beau through other musical styles Jamie embarked on his acoustic adventure in 2012 and has not looked back. Playing alternative folk music with fingerstyle, percussive acoustic songs backed up by some powerful vocals. 2013 alone has seen him hitting the festival circuit hard performing at Y Not, OssFest and Glastonbury plus many more to come. Regularly Aired on BBC radio stations in derby his home town, Jamie released his debut release the Shedding Skin EP in July to an overwhelming response.
He describes his music as “the audible type of music that is made up of sound waves”. “Style wise I really love exploring what the acoustic guitar can do, there’s some great percussive players out there that I find so inspiring and also some great songwriters too. So I like blending the two as much as I can. Roots wise, I guess I grew up (like most do really) listening to what73182_10152717401010368_1784925844_n.jpg their parents did so I’m really inspired by 70′s soul and rock…. this was really where I first embraced music.”
“I’m the youngest child of 5 and I grew up in the East Midlands of the UK. I started playing guitar when I was 7, took a break and then progressed into other things like singing and performing then rediscovered it in my teens. I’ve always performed in bands since I was a wee young whipper snapper but I guess moving on from that going alone was the most natural and comfortable I’ve ever felt from a performing perspective.”
