Irish identical twins John Paul and Edward Grimes (best known as John & Edward) made it through to the Final 12 in this the 2009 series of the X Factor, which airs on ITV. Simon Cowell reportedly didn’t like the twin’s audition but they impressed the other judges – Cheryl Cole, Dannii Minogue, and Louis Walsh – who voted to pass them through to the next round. Eventually they were picked by Louis Walsh as one of the final 3 Groups.
