Jill Leighton is a singer songwriter originally from Gourock, a little town by the sea in the West coast of Scotland.
She began her early life immersed in music, with a mother who sang old folk tunes introducing Jill to the beauty of story telling and the acoustic guitar. Jill travelled throughout her younger years to most of South East Asia, and Papua New Guinea where she was exposed to differing cultural musical elements.
Returning to her homeland she planted her feet in London to study at Goldsmiths Music School. This is where she found her true love for performing.
Since graduating, Jill travelled extensively performing her songs, touring the East Coast of the States for 6 months working alongside the likes of Neal Casal, of Ryan Adams and the Cardinals.
She has a voice to blow all others out of the water, with a range greater than most, her voice is one not to be forgotten.
Packing an almighty punch with her alternative folk country tinged melodies, accompanied by her Appalachian dulcimer and acoustic, her songs stand strong, musically and lyrically.
There is no denying this Scottish songbirds potential - her songwriting ability alongside her powerful stage demeanour is something to behold.

In visits to New York City, Jill has worked closely with some of the finest in the business - to name a few - playing regular shows with John Gill, a member of Woody Allen's New Orlean's Jazz Band, working with 2 time grammy winning producer/mixer Kirk Yano.
