The unassuming trumpeter Joseph Oti, is quietly but emphatically establishing himself as one to watch from the gloriously burgeoning Jazz talent in the City. London raised from Afro-Caribbean roots, He’s a recent graduate of the esteemed Guildhall School of Music, honing his skills in Jazz performance, improvisation, composing/arranging, and large ensemble playing.
He is currently involved with a number of prominent bands in the London jazz scene most notably the Seed ensemble and his own new project, the Joti Quintet where he assembles a veritable super group of the most noted emerging musicians on the Jazz Scene. Joseph uses the Joti Quintet as a vehicle to channel and express his perspective via his original compositions and the results are sonic excitement and maturity combined.
