With a voice that has been likened to Peggy Lee or Julie London, Kate returned to the UK jazz scene with her well-received album Atmospherics - an album that reflects what she describes as 'Jazz Noir' - The sultry late night mood of the 1940's film genre of film noir.
In recent years with distinguished guitarists such as John Etheridge and Nils Solberg, she has developed her love of hot club/gypsy jazz.
Her third album The L Shaped Groove due out in the spring 2017 and featuring John Horler, pianist, Alec Dankworth, Winston Clifford and Nils Solberg explores the feel of groove-based music from the early 60's.
“She is a fantastic performer – the audience loved her.” Imagine Festival Waterford Eire
“The cool, smoky, laid back approach of say, a Julie London or a Jeri Southern with a sprinkling of Peggy Lee...Where has this lady been hiding?” Lance Liddle /Jazz North East
“Kate creates the intimate and engaging atmosphere of a storyteller, as she shines a light on the songs she sings and the lives of the songwriters. The result is a captivating show that is pure entertainment and celebrates some of the great songwriters and musicians of the Jazz age whilst treating the audience to a wonderful live concert.” Lit and Phil Newcastle
