Biography

As British as a great day out by the seaside, as British as fish and chips, as

British as broken families and sink estates, as British as laughing in the

rain, as British as banter in the face of adversity, as British as the classic

pop that echoes through the decades, as British as the multiracial music

that soundtracks our lives - Kid British are the 21st century punky reggae

party.

They are are the sound of the mash up of music styles that fast forwards

its way throughout modern UK. They are the party political broadcast from

the 24-hour party people. A multiracial, multi ethnic reflection of modern

Blighty.

Kid British manage to take the grit and grime of real life, of their lives,

and turn it into a celebration. These are songs of growing up in the

confusion of the modern big city, of kitchen sink dramas and pavement

politics. The lyrics, which are laced with a sly street wit and sharp banter,

are snapshots of our modern world..

Their live audience celebrates all generations of British music. Dancing on

the bones of the classics and putting them into the new century, there’s a

whiff of Motown and hip hop, the party clatter of primetime bluebeat, the

skinhead moonstomp of primetime ska, the sense of space and time of

reggae, the psychic dancehall of stomping northern soul and timeless

action! time! vision! of classic British beat, and always.... those great

melodies.

An audience of hip street kids, football fans, students, pretty girls and

elder musical warriors dance in a blur of sta pressed street fashion and

sharp styles. Kid British is a party and the bands infectious onstage energy

and raucous bonhomie is guaranteed to get this socially conscious bash

started.
