Biography

A gift for storytelling makes each song by Kim

Cameron an unraveling tale that effortlessly

connects you with the music and has you singing

along by the second chorus. Her lyrics speak to

life’s journey, exploring emotional relationships and

drawing strength from life experiences. Recently

produced songs include “Life’s Mystery,” “Come a

Little Closer,” and “My Hero.”

Cameron’s singing and songwriting are influenced

by many types of music, from R&B to a little

country and new age. A native Californian, she

developed a love of performance early, beginning

in theater and then forming her first band after

college. Cameron started writing songs after her brother-in-law was diagnosed with cancer,

when she needed a positive outlet for how much he had impacted her life. “My goal with writing

and singing is to help take people away from a frustrating day or sad place and bring them back

home – and home is not a location, but rather a place that you can feel grounded and safe,” says

Cameron. Her songs are supported by her powerful, vibrant voice with its shades of rock.

Cameron is the lead singer for Side F/X Band in Washington, D.C. Playing regularly

throughout the metro area for more than two years, the pop group offers a range of sounds, from

blues and indie to modern rock. Fans rave that the band is “Super inFXectious,” and so addictive

it can be “bad for your health.”

“My life wouldn’t be complete without Side F/X’s musical notes mixed in it,” says Cameron.

A number of original songs have been composed and produced with the band, contributing to the

group’s growing popularity. Read more on Last.fm. User-contributed text is available under the Creative Commons By-SA License; additional terms may apply.
