A 5-piece band from Leeds, Yorkshire, playing a diverse range of blues styles. Our music is influenced by Howlin Wolf, Muddy Waters, Jimmy Reed, Jimi Hendrix, Buddy Guy, Peter Green, John Mayall, Freddie King, BB King, Albert King, Ray Charles and so many more...
These guys go from note-perfect renditions of classic 1920's ragtime piano blues to hypnotic swamp/trance grooves which would gain the ear of the Louisiana Witch Queen herself. The backbeat stays solid throughout, but the wonders of technology bring us car doors and Stomp-like clangs.
The vocals sound like a three-way stand-off between Howlin'Wolf, Barry White and the Creature from the Black Lagoon, and there`s plenty of guitar, ranging across familiar styles but with Allman-like slide phrases thrown in. When I caught up with them in the studio, recording for the small but influential Shoestring label, it turned out the guitar was in standard tuning. Cool.
So, they aren't Curators of the Blues Museum, they know how to Roll as well'as Rock, and they're quite happy to let the audience up for "Mustang Sally". Another blues band? Kinda. Check 'em out.
