KOMA is a London-based collective comprising six young musicians with their own individual voices, coming together to create a unique sound in jazz. Having studied at some of the top conservatoires in the country, KOMA are continuing to push the boundaries of their sound, blending musical styles and influences from all backgrounds.
The name KOMA is derived from the Japanese word 'Komorebi' which refers to the interplay between sunlight and tree leaves. This somewhat poetic imagery symbolises the beauty in something so often taken for granted for its simplicity. This is something KOMA strive to convey through their music every time they play.
KOMA features Blake Cascoe on drums, Donovan Haffner on alto sax, Francisco Garcia de Paredes on guitar, Grifton Forbes-Amos on trumpet, Laurie Milton on piano/keys and Louis Sills-Clare on bass guitar.
