Biography

Koopa are a pop punk band from Colchester Essex. They started as a band just mucking about but found that people loved them so got a manager and became more serious. They had cult success with Songs "No Trend" and "Pop Rock Factory" and hope for bigger success when they release "Stand Up 4 England" as an unofficial world cup anthem.

Their songs are often about relationships with girlfriends or friends. "Pop Rock Factory" ironically mocks the manufactured pop industry and overnight stars. The song "Mini-Skirts" takes a pop at popular type girls. They sing about girls who take "9 hours to do all their make-up and about 3 weeks to finish their hair", a bit like Busted.

They sing their songs in the punk style similar to Blink-182 and Good Charlotte, but speak in an honest fashion not dissimilar to The Streets or The Arctic Monkeys.

Monday, 15th January 2007: Koopa - we're the first ever unsigned group to have a top 40 hit under new governing Internet music sales. The band's 'Blag, Steal & Borrow' single entered at #31.

The band have also put an audio link up on their site where JK & Joel announce their positioning. Read more on Last.fm. User-contributed text is available under the Creative Commons By-SA License; additional terms may apply.
