Les Barker, born in 1947, is an English poet and performer. He's known for writing comedic poetry and parody songs. He also performs with the Mrs Ackroyd Band, named after his late dog, Mrs. Ackroyd; the band has including members such as June Tabor and Martin Carthy.

Les has written 77 books which sell in large numbers at his gigs because people don't quite believe what they've just heard. BBC Radio 2 appearances have caused a larger audience to be led in ever decreasing circles by his strange mind.
