TONY BODIMEAD:
Original member and founder of Lime Shark he has had vast experience from an early age, touring and playing in prog/rock to commercial pop acts in the UK and around Europe. He is the main singer/songwriter for the band and shows a strong creative and emotional side that comes through in his lyrics. Tony spends much of his time in his home studio where the bands demos are made.
His musical tastes are varied and include King Crimson, Rush, Placebo, Muse, Nirvana, Genesis, Yes, Saga, Neil Young, The Blue Nile and John Martin.
His influences are Jeff Beck, Alex Lifeson, Dave Gilmour, John Barry, Brian May, Adrian Belew and Jimi Hendrix to name but a few!
PAUL ‘WIZBAT’ WATSON:
Paul has been playing since his early teens and has had experience in touring with several bands and has worked as a sound engineer and guitar tech to members of Motorhead and Big Audio Dynamite.
Paul has an extensive range of basses, including four, five, six and seven string instruments plus two identical looking hand crafted six string basses which resemble the famous Rickenbacker RM1999 belonging to Chris Squire! His style emulates this brilliant bassist of Yes who was one of his earliest influences along with Geddy Lee and John Entwhistle.
His musical taste consists of Progressive Rock bands Yes, Rush, Genesis through to Asia, Muse, Porcupine Tree and the Foo Fighters.
MATT COPE:
Matt comes from a highly musical background and has been playing drums for 18 years. As well as playing for Lime Shark he also teaches drums to about 200 pupils in schools and privately.
His dad was a session player who played on a number of well known recordings in the 60's and 70's. He also has 2 younger brothers who are accomplished guitarists. He has played in several bands but his first band (called Self Esteem) was with his brother Tom.
Influences are Metallica, Pantera, Dream Theatre, Rush, Alice In Chains, Black Sabbath, The Cure, David Bowie, Foo Fighters, Iron Maiden, Korn, The Beatles, Led Zeppelin, Jimi Hendrix, Green Day and Nirvana.
There are many drummers he admires but in particular: Mike Portnoy, Neil Peart, Vinnie Paul, Buddy Rich, Chad Smith, Jason Bitner, Tico Torres, Mitch Mitchell, John Bonham, David Grohl and Mark Harding to name a few.
Although drumming is Matt's main passion he is also mad about skiing. He lived and worked in France for a while as a chalet host in the winter and a holiday rep in the summer in Les Arcs and Les Deux Alpes.
TIM MYERS:
Musician ... Petrolhead ... Gadget Freak ... Apple computers ... Rugby fan ... Art as expression not marketing ... Music made from compulsion not obligation ... The Individual not The State.
Music has always been a huge part of my life, starting as a choral scholar as a child and ending up as a guitarist in quite a few rock bands over the years. It taps into and releases feelings in a way nothing else can. I couldn’t live without it. Playing live is an intense physical experience, I crave emotional music that means something.
Artists I love: Sigur Ros, Lisa Gerrard, Marillion, Dead Can Dance, Aimee Mann, Rush, Filter, David Sylvian, All About Eve, Smashing Pumpkins, Joni Mitchell, Porcupine Tree, A Perfect Circle, Placebo, Gretchen Peters, Jonatha Brooke, Frost*. There are a ton of others but too many to list here.
I’ve been inspired by many great musicians; Alex Lifeson, Steve Rothery, Allan Holdsworth, Pat Metheny and Lindsay Buckingham in particular.
I can be intransigent, judgemental, loyal, easy going, open minded, sincere, intelligent, argumentative, opinionated, earthy, straight forward, cerebral, complex, romantic, cynical, arrogant, insecure, humble and demanding. I am all these things in varying and often contradictory combinations depending on the situation and the subject. After all I`m only human.
The spiritual, the sacred and the profane things in my life help to make me who I am, I wouldn`t change any of it.
