Biography

Mi-Afternoons: The Perfect Soundtrack For Home, Work, Car, Play, Exercise & Chill-Out.

Mark “Deadly” Smedley started his love of Soul, Jazz, Funk, Dance and Reggae in the late 70’s, being educated at the school of Robbie Vincent, Greg Edwards & David Rodigan. His career took off when he landed the position of Head of Production at Kiss 100 and also presented specialist and daytime shows. Deadly has held DJ residencies and appeared at almost every London nightclub as well as the main London Hotels for Black Tie Events.

Deadly left Kiss 100 in 1999 and set up Deadly Productions, producing radio commercials primarily for large record companies whilst taking a break from presenting on air but he wasn’t ready to hang up his decks forever, and now presents Mi-Afternoons from 1-4pm every weekday, featuring the very best Mi-Soul Music plus TWO twenty-minute Deadly Mixes from different genres and eras each day but with a cheeky bias towards Mi-History. There’s also “Deadly’s Mi-Afternoon Delight”, something brand new played every day for the whole week, and the chance to win a Deadly/Mi-Soul Tee Shirt. Listen out for his TV Trivia and some sentimental TV themes & commercials from back in the day and you’ll soon find yourself hooked to Mi-Afternoons.

Mi-Afternoons with Mark “Deadly” Smedley, Monday to Friday from 1 pm till 4 pm only on Mi-Soul Radio Network.
