As far as Mark can remember he had always loved music. From the late 70’s his pocket money was “invested†in anything that sounded good. From Junior Mervin’s Police and Thieves to David Bowie’s Golden Years to Karen Young’s Hot Shot. Radio went hand in hand with the ever-growing music collection.
Listening to the likes of Radio London, Capital Radio and Radio One though out the 70’s and early 80’s. Unfortunately if Mark wanted Soul, Dance, RNB, Disco and Jazz he had to scale up and down the Long Wave and Medium wave bands to the likes of Radio Luxembourg and one or two dodgy French stations just to hear something different.
Music and radio became a part of his life, if he wasn’t playing it, he was listening to it.
As the record collection grew the need to share his pleasure was the next stage and Mark became a DJ towards the end of his school years in the early 80’s, playing music anywhere.
From the late 90’s Mark was introduced into the inner workings of radio, enrolled onto radio presentation course and been hooked ever since, presenting a wide variety of shows, from early breakfast to midday weekends with a diverse range of music from popular to Jazz, Club and Dance.
Since being thrown into the world of radio Mark continued to dabble, working with several London FM stations and over the past few years dipping into the exciting world of internet broadcasting.
Radio is and will be one of the only places where you can lose yourself in a moment, reminisce on the good times, dance, sing, laugh and cry. So join Mark on Delite Radio – music you want to hear.
The night time starts here, another mixed bag of feel good music.
