Biography

MARLON CELESTINE

After DJing at various Prince club and boat parties around the country, Marlon finally settled in a small club off Oxford Street in 1994, playing there for two years before moving on to co-pilot the Mukatsuku nights with the world famous Nik Weston.

This leading to various other club nights and events for Marlon, but the weekly West End Tuesday night sessions were amongst his best and well known. A weekly residency specialising in all things funk, with a wide selection of Minneapolis Sounds including the music of Prince, The Time, Sheila E and the more recognisable associates like The Family to the lesser known ones as well dropped each and every week.

Parliament Funkadelic, James Brown and rare out-takes from the Prince vault are usually an essential part of any Marlon Celestine set.

"When I play I am always striving to tell the history of a genre with great records that will put a smile on your face and keep your body moving, whether it be funk, hip-hop or house. I specialise in vinyl only sets"
