MassMatiks are an infectious collective, a trait that is common through their quintessentially British indie rock music, live performances and personalities. Having begun crafting their sound since they first formed in 2013, the band’s first year saw a build up to their debut release ‘Independence (A Lack Of)’ as a free download in September, which included supporting The 1975, Nightlife, Brother & Bones, Dance a la Plage & Swim Good.
Since then, vocalist George Peploe, guitarist Joe Turner, bassist Martin Linch and drummer Josh Stagg moved in together, went on holiday together, went on tour for the first time, secured a management deal, shared a bedroom and were on TV together together, all at the same time as being four best mates cooped up in various bedrooms, studios and rehearsal rooms writing loads of new music.
