Ni Maxine is a Neo-Jazz Singer-Songwriter who, over the past year, has been developing a body of music, exploring themes of home, identity, self-esteem and belonging. With a sense of duty to reflect the times, Ni Maxine presents the story of a Black woman navigating today’s world, with a nod to Billie Holiday and Nina Simone.
Ni Maxine has been championed by BBC Music Introducing, locally, with ardent support from BBC Radio 1’s ‘Introducing’ show for two singles, including ‘Justice’ which was selected as ‘Tip of The Week’. Having headlined Frederiks and Bobiks (Newcastle) while Artist at Residence at The Sage, Gateshead, where she set in motion the creation of her forthcoming EP, Ni Maxine knows how to put on a show. This is going to be a good one!
