When you don't fit the crowd, it takes courage to stick to your guns and carve a path that makes sense to you. That's exactly what November Lights have done since forming in late 2014.

The band, consisting of James Hopkins (19), Scott Mitchell (21) and Josh Fraser (20) achieve a sound that is unusual for their West of Scotland roots - bleeding elements of American pop and Americana, akin to artists such as One Republic and Ryan Adams and fusing them with alternative rock favourites closer to home. It's unusual at times but ultimately works for the band brought together by singer James Hopkins.

At only 19, his songs make you feel as if you're listening to a familiar old friend - an innate skill that has been developed after 18 months of collaborating with Mitchell and Fraser to a body of work that would sit well with a generation of music fans that no longer care about genres.

That body of work is called ‘Talk’ and the band couldn’t be more excited to release it and build on their first two standalone singles ‘Bring You Home’ and ‘Clearer’.

Recorded with producer Chris Marshall from West Studios across summer 2016, ‘Talk’ is an exciting blend of emotional song writing, epic pop and youthful vigour that is destined to make a dent in the Scottish music scene. Lead single A.U.X. shows this intent in epic fashion. At only 2 minutes 33 seconds in length, it packs a punch of melody, intelligence and craft that belies their age.

The music press have picked up on the band's ambition and nonconformity. To write what they do, perform it unashamedly and then slip back to being three unassuming lads is something that has also sat well with promoters and fans alike.

Previous support slots with Walking on Cars, Bwani Junction, Model Aeroplanes and Fatherson have shown that they can mix it with the best and that more is still to come.
