Biography

Pat presented his first daytime show 32 years ago for BBC Radio 1 at just twenty years of age back in 1982. Following a year on air, plus numerous ‘Top of the Pops’ TV appearances, he then went on to host mid mornings at 95.8 Capital FM for a decade. Along the way he picked up a gold Sony award whilst also notching up 7 hit singles and raising over £300,000 for charity as part of the infamous Stock Aitken Waterman duo ‘Pat & Mick’. He then took his mid-morning slot to No 1 again, as part of 8 successful years at London’s Heart, becoming the only presenter ever to rate No 1 on mid mornings in London on two different stations.

Pat Sharp presents the syndicated radio show ‘All The Hits’ which airs across the UK & around the world heard as far afield as Thailand & Taunton! Over the years his radio shows have also been broadcast on BFBS for our troops worldwide, along with in flight programmes aboard Swissair, Sabena, Britannia Airways & Oman Air. Pat recently hosted the national afternoon show at Smooth Radio. Every weekend across the UTV network of 9 stations sees ‘Pat Sharp’s Sarturday Night Party’ hit the airwaves, warming up for Dave Pearce and the best evening of the week!

On TV Pat hosted the now cult rated ITV show ‘ FunHouse ‘ for 12 years which repeats even now on Sky / Challenge Friday nights at 10pm along with other ITV shows including the Saturday morning spectacular ‘What’s Up Doc?’ ’10 Sharp’ ‘The Gala Opening of Disneyland Paris’ plus Sky One’s ‘UK Top 40′.

Pat was also the pioneer host of Sky Channel’s first pop video shows (Skytrax) shown across Europe in 40 million homes via satellite & cable throughout the 80’s.

He won the DJ edition of ‘The Weakest Link’ raising £13K for charity. His appearance on Channel 4′s ‘The Games’ earned him great respect from viewers and fellow contestants alike. Pat has also starred in ‘Celebrity Come Dine With Me’ Ch 4 ‘Never Mind The Buzzcocks’ BBC 2 (five times) ‘Celebrity Ghost Stories’ Bio. He has even had a cameo role in the movie ‘Superman Requiem’ which was released as a fan film in 2011. He also has a cameo role in the new E4 sitcom ‘Drifters’ made by Bwark Productions who produced ‘The Inbetweeners’

In 2011 Pat Sharp swapped life behind the microphone at Smooth Radio for life in the jungle as he joined ITV’s ‘ I’m A Celebrity – Get Me Out of Here ’. Pat joined US actress Stefanie Powers, Mark Wright, Dougie from McFly and Willie Carson amongst others. After the most successful and talked about series for many years Pat emerged from the jungle after competing with Fatima Whitbread in one of the most gruelling Bush Tucker trials ever. Apart from the eventual winner & runner up, that made Pat the only person NOT to be actually voted out.

Pat appears on the music channel Vintage TV / Sky 369 / Freesat. He has hosted his own twice weekly show ‘Pat Sharp’s Top Ten At Ten’ and ‘The Time Warp’

Pat co-hosted and sang to a sell out crowd live at London’s O2 Arena (Xmas 2012) with Pat & Mick as part of Pete Waterman’s Hit Factory Live extravaganza.

On both TV & radio he has voiced commercials for Pampers, Warner Bros Cinemas, Sodastream, Rice Krispies Squares, The Daily Mail, Branston Pickle & Surf and many others. In 2011 Pat was the ‘voice’ of Endemol. He also hosts many live PA’s across the UK, from corporate events to DJ sets, plus appearing for holidaymakers in Mallorca, Ibiza, France and Austria along with playing at retro nights in Norway, Oman & Dubai.
