Picture Frame Seduction formed in 1978 in Haverfordwest in West Wales playing the same style of punk music as counterparts The Partisans from Bridgend. The band was called The Frames until 1979 when they recorded their first demo and in particular a very fast version of Pearl Harbour. The band have been hit by tragedy and intrigue over the years with deaths of fans at shows and band members going missing or dying. Mark Bozier the guitarist on all the vinyl releases on Rot Records and SO SO Record sin the 80's died at the age of 26 from a heart attack and then bassist Steve Parkin ended up living in a rural community of chaos and anarcho punx in mid wales, and was missing for 10 years. Keith and Griff kept in touch between 1987 and 2000 and re-formed the band at about this time for a one off show. Playing to 500 hardy souls in their home town they reformed ' for one last hit at this punk rock thing ' The band are one of the most unwelcome bands in their country of Wales, and have had many run in's with local authorities and have seen shows end in fights and very bad tempers in the early 80's. The fact they split in 1987 was probably a good idea. But they were one of the first UK82 bands with GBH / Exploited / Abrasive Wheels and Discharge who Keith ( songsman ) spent a very brief time with in 1980 as drummer.
Releasing SEX WAR on their own CULTJAM RECORDS in 2005 and a split album with TSOTR in 2006 titles SKATEBOARDING both available on Amazon the band have played all the big punk festivals of late in europe like Rebellion and Punk n' Disorderly and expect to play on for a while yet. Leaving politics and intensity behind the band now enjoy playing, drinking and meeting new fans all over the world and will continue to do so it seems with their new line up of 22 year old Ash Shannon on guitar and Steve Arthur on bass ( not 22 but thinks he is ) Keith on vocals ( wishes he was ) and Griff ( cant remember if he was ) The band celebrate 30 years in 2008, and fans of the band should check them out at the major Rebellion Festival events in 2008.
The jealousy of other bands who are younger will always remain in Wales ( some not all ) especially in their home county of Pembroke, but as PFS say ' We have nothing to prove ' and history states this is true. The longest living punk band in Wales for sure.
Picture Frame Seduction play one more time at The Rebellion Festival 2009 in Blackpool with a yet to be announced line up that will almost certainly include lead singer Keith and original guitaist Rob.
In 2010 they play Rebellion Italia and Rebellion England. Both were very success, with PFS earning many many new fans in Italia in this year. They will play Rebellion 2011 too I think.
They have announced the shows of English Dogs and Picture Frame Seduction in the UK in 2011 and they play Amsterdam Rebellion as too.
Great new video here as well
