Blending a childhood steeped in folk music and myth with the grit that came from an urban upbringing, Rachel tells folktales from around the globe and strings them together with songs & an awareness of their contemporary relevance. Bridging over the storytelling and urban ‘spoken word’ scene, she specialises in taking storytelling to venues where no storyteller has been before (well that’s what they say, but she thinks they just have short memories), including the Tricycle Theatre, Burning Man Festival, Camp Bestival, Port Eliot, & Latitude. She was 2007 UK Young Storyteller of the Year and has scaled the arts scene with recent performances at the Barbican, Soho Theatre and London Literary Festival. Rachel is Curator of Stories at 40 Winks.
