“Riverholic playing everything house to make you move and groove“ - Frances aka Riverholic started her DJ’ing career back in 2000. She chose her stage name based on the fact that she happens to love everything about boats and water and ‘Riverholic’ seemed an appropriate name to choose. Today Riverholic is the proud owner of several boats.
Riverholic’s main desire to become a DJ stemmed from her own love of music and the fact that she became fed up with the same music being played when she went out, so she thought she would give it a try herself and work with different sounds on vinyl that she personally loved and introduce them onto the dance music scene.
Today, Riverholic enjoys playing everything ‘House’; from Afro, Soulful and Deep ‘House’ through to Funky ‘House’ music, although she generally admits that she appreciates all music genre if it sounds good.
Riverholic’s success started almost from the off in 2000, when she was fortunate enough to be given the opportunity to play at a gig organized by Tim Indulge at ‘The Mass Club’ in Brixton where Frankie Knuckles was headlining. Following on from her initial success Riverholic subsequently went on to gain residencies at well-known clubs in London such as ‘China White’, ‘The Pharmacy Nottinghill’ and ‘The Funky Buddha’, as well as ‘The Town House’ in Knightsbridge. After a regular 6-7 year period on the dance music scene, Riverholic decided that it was time for a change of direction and she took a leap of faith and entered into the world of photography in 2006. Today, Frances aka Riverholic has her own school photography company called FLP www.flpschool.com, where she is actively involved on a day to day basis. However, behold Riverholic is now “back in the DJ saddle and ready for round 2”. How has this come about, well in 2019 when “Lockdown” hit and with all the time on her hands, Riverholic decided to invest in a controller and see where it would take her. She searched on Facebook for platforms for her to expose her new found love of music again. Subsequently she was invited to play every single week online on a Facebook Group Page called “Through Music We Live On” (TMWLO) which was in fact set up during lockdown for various DJ’s to reach the masses with their vibes. This specific group went on to have 19,000 members to whom Riverholic played each week. The group eventually moved over to ‘MixCloud Live’ and it was from Riverholic’s exposure here, that she was booked to play at “Through Music We Live On” first live event which was held in Birmingham at the end of the “lockdown” period. Since this time, Riverholic has gone on to play in London, on the Thames on ‘The Smitten Boat Party’ as well as at ‘Just Play Music’ at the ‘Orange Yard’ in London W1.
Riverholic sure has an exciting time ahead of her for 2022; she frequently plays on TMWLO and already she has played at the Belessa Club Night Pre Launch in January. She is also set to join Belessa Club Night at their next event at The Warehouse Bar, Benfleet, Essex on 11th June. In addition to this, Riverholic also plans on hooking up with her long-time friend, Si Hardy and his brand ‘The Wisemen’ in the months to come. Later in the year she is also booked to play at the ‘Paphos Beats Festival in Cyprus. Riverholic is also keen to play in Ibiza and the dream would be to play at the ‘Suncebeat festival’, so watch out, Riverholic is set to hit the dance music scene once again bringing you her wonderful ‘House’ music beats for you to enjoy and “and move and groove you ”.
