Biography

Robs enthusiasm for dance music started in the early 90s with an addiction to Hardcore, Gabba & Bouncy Techno. He was influenced heavily by Stu Allan and Dj Sy. He started collecting vinyl and (bedroom) Djing in 1995. Rob was addicted to Turntablism and Scratching and used to practice for hours every day, he encorporates this into his sets today. After years of practice, in 1997 he got his first gig at an under 18s alongside schoolfriend and ex Ultrabeat member, Ian Redman. In 1998 Rob Played 'North' @ The Void in Stole On Trent with another close friend and ex Drome Dj, Forze.

This was Robs last ever Hardcore gig as he was now becoming interested in the style of House music that was coming out of Holland, Spain & Germany from artists such as The Klubbheads, Mark Van Dale vs Enrico, Brooklyn Bounce & Sm Trax. In his hometown of Liverpool, 'Club051' was championing this style, and encorporating a unique blend of Trance, Disco, Hard House, Funk & Piano House throughout the night. This influence still stands true to Robs Dj sets now.

Big Dj influences from this era where Lee Butler, Alan Holt, Dave Graham, Ste Mcgee & John Cotton. All of which had a sound unique from each other and somewhat unique from the rest of the country, who at the time seemed to be stuck in a whirlwind of Italian House & Makina.

In 2001 Rob joined the 'Aquarium Nightclub' Dj team alongside some of his friends and Dj heros. Initially Rob was brought in to warm up the night playing Funky House and Old Skool for the first couple of hours. As the years went on he became a firm favourite with the regular clubbers securing him main set times, residencies and guest spots at some of Liverpools hottest venues including 'Bar Red', 'Club051', 'Sunrise', 'The Pleasurerooms' & 'Arena' to name but a few. After years of championing the Liverpool curcuit, the gigs started to increase outside the city with venues like 'Wigan Pier', 'Medicine' & 'Maximes' taking a strong interest. later followed by 'Naughty' & 'Klubbed Out' from the North East.

You can catch Rob in the studio weekly with production partner Chris Clarke making tracks under the alias' Total Control, Cain & Clarke, Bubblegum, Boris Van Borg & Ivan Hornwitz, etc. They have had numerous record signings and remixed for major labels and artists. Rob has also recently started collaborating with Rezonance Q and Klubfiller on seperate projects. Both bringing a fresh take to the sound he has become known for.

Rob has gone on to play at every major Bounce event in the UK and secured residencies at Bounce Heaven & Frequency.

In 2008 Rob won 'Best Dj' at the first ever Bounce Awards. He then went on to win it for a second time in 2009, hailing him as the UKs number 1 Bounce Dj.
