Indie rock singer-songwriter Robi Mitch draws on 70s psychedelia, 90s mixtape culture and his experiences as a session musician in Taiwan to create a sound which is "Diverse, blissfully warm and utterly infectious" (Small Music Scene).
Robi's debut Our Year arrived in January 2020 and was heralded as “Amazing” by BBC Introducing, who spotlighted the EP upon its release. The pandemic put an end to Robi’s touring plans, but he focussed on new releases with Nice Guys Records and Fruit Machine, gaining radio and playlist spots including in the coveted Spotify Fresh Finds playlist.
This was followed by full-length Future Perfect in April 2021, released on cassette and digitally. In the summer of 2021 Robi and his band recorded a concert film, Live from Easter Palace, and played their first shows for over a year including a packed album launch party at The Lanes in Bristol.
Robi's music has been compared to Pink Floyd, Beck, Flaming Lips, Cass McCombs and others, while he cites Sunset Rollercoaster and producer Yuchain Wang as enduring influences. He was based in Bristol for many years, and currently lives in Penryn, Cornwall.
Robi returns in 2022 with a new EP on Colorama Records!
"A timeless body of warm, pastoral psych work." (Fruit Machine)
"Sweet melancholy... Robi sings the apocalypse with a smile." (Mauvaise Graine)
“Timeless songwriting." (Bristol In Stereo)
