Biography

**Romes** UK-based DJ/producer Romes made his production breakthrough in 2020 after entering a remix competition for Guerilla Movement. His remix of Ashby's "The Beginning" was loved by the label and became the winning track, featuring on Ashby's debut EP of the same name. He spent lockdown honing his production style and soon built a collection of new music ready for release. In early 2022, his work caught the attention of multiple labels, as well as support from BBC Music, who featured him in interviews and played some of his unsigned music.

He continued to gather momentum throughout 2022, releasing "My Soul" on the Liverpool-based label ToolBox House. It became a breakout success, featuring on the Beatport Top 100 House tracks and reaching 5th on The Beatport Top 100 Hype Picks. Its success was recognised by the label, featuring on their "Best of 2022" album alongside other distinguished artists.

Further success followed when Hourglass Records signed his first EP "Artemis" and his second single "Give It Me." Romes ended the year on a high with two massive signings to the widely renowned house label Cleveland City Records, who snapped up dancefloor bangers "Make Mi Day" and "Disco Acid Tab." He also appeared on ToolBox House's "Best Of 2022" album.

Romes continued his momentum in 2023 with further support from BBC Music Introducing. He kicked off a huge year, releasing a total of nine tracks with four labels: Hourglass Records ("Wanna C Me Dunk" and "Summer Smooth EP"), Consolidated ("Let Nobody"), Twist Of Time ("Slap That"), and World Sound ("Bay-Be"). Romes also took on remix duties for HifiDexx's "Concentrate" and Josh Burrows' "More Techno." He ended 2023 featuring on five huge albums: "Whore House Big House Sessions," "ToolBox Twenty - The Originals," "ToolBox Twenty - The Edits," "World Sound The Best Of 2023," and "Twist Of Time The Best Of 2023."

Romes opened 2024 with his huge remix of ROYLE4NINE's "Back To The Middle" on Whore House Records, peaking at #5 in the Funky/Groove/Jackin’ House Releases. He continued the year with two more releases, showcasing his darker side with the techno track "DFK" on ESOM (Electronic State Of Mind Records), his biggest streamed track to date. His "Close To Me EP," his third on HourGlass Records, includes a five-track EP with remixes from Mean Feet, EitherOr, and Josh Burrows.

He appeared on two more albums: "Whore House Miami 2024 Album" and "World Sound Tech House Sessions Album." With summer in full flow and festival season in full effect, Romes played Clockstock 2024, a huge honour and a testament to his relentless hard work and commitment to his craft.

His next release, "Work Ya Body," is a trip down memory lane and a return to the mighty Cleveland City Records. Like "Disco Acid Tab," "Work Ya Body" is a huge tech house track with acid riffs, deep bass, and old-school sampled vocals. Joining him on this one is renowned producer Jack Wood with his big summer piano house remix and, for the first time, an indie dance monster from The Doc.

Halfway through 2024, Romes has been working hard behind the scenes on new music, widening his style, and taking on new genres. 2024 sees Romes establish and solidify his name on the electronic music scene, leaving everyone already wondering what 2025 holds for him.
