Sam has been DJing for twelve years, following a life-long fascination with music and sound. After beginning his career in his home town of Rawtenstall, he then secured his first residency at The Temple, Bolton in 2000 — which at the time, was the second largest capacity club in the UK. In 2002, Sam’s talents earned him a residency at Project Five Manchester, playing weekly sets for a night that was also hosted in New York, Berlin and London. As one of the Manchester residents, Sam played at Club North in the city's famous Northern Quarter before moving with the club night to the Music Box on Oxford Road. During this time, Sam also played many gigs in student bars such as Scubar on Oxford Road.
Moving to Leeds in 2003, Sam went on to produce a radio show for 2 years, highlighting not just his DJing talents but also his ability to move into broadcasting with ease. A lot of hard work paid off, and Sam secured guest mixes from John Digweed, Quivver, Keith McDonnell and Paolo Mojo, as well as showcasing up and coming talent. He also interviewed John Digweed for the show and broadcast a phone interview with Paolo Mojo. Sam played at several nights in Leeds including Quality Connects at the Mint club, warming up for Tribal Gathering’s Greg Vickers. His reputation also earned him gigs in Nottingham in 2004.
Sams DJ style has seemingly matured over the years, starting his career with progressive house, and having sampled many genres of house, branched into the more tech house sound. The digital revolution has enabled Sam to experiment with different sounds and has allowed him to develop further as a DJ as tracks become much more accessible.
Sam moved to London in the summer of 2006 and over the last few years his reputation has grown further, playing gigs across the capital for Audio Deluxe and Twisted Audio. These gigs have allowed him to play alongside world-renowned DJ’s such as Kazell, Luke Fair, Omid 16b & Demi. At Easter 2007, he played in the Soundshaft at the legendary Bedrock, whilst Jimmy Van M & John Digweed headlined the main room. Gigs that summer saw Sam warm up for Neil Quigley and Paolo Mojo. He was then booked to play Bedrock for the second time in 2007. Playing in the Departure Lounge for the birthday party in October.
In 2008 Sam played gigs for BeatFREAK alongside Global Underground's rising star Anil Chawla & Alex Tepper from Futureshock. At the end of August he played for Twisted Audio at Sasha's Invol2ver album launch party at Ministry Of Sound and in December headlined Nuestra Casa's 2nd birthday party as well as playing the last set at the Prefab party for the John Digweed Fabric night.
2009 has seen Sam continue where he left off in 2008 with gigs at BeatFREAK, Safar, Tonefields & Ministry Of Sound.
It seems his reputation continues to grow...
