Sean first fell in love with the sound of house music whilst frequenting some of Jo-burgs notorious hotspots at the tender age of 17. Bewitched by the bass and taken by the treble his desire for a deeper understanding of music began. His first step was setting up his mom’s living room turntable together with his next door neighbors dusty old belt driven record player, a faulty second hand mixer, whilst being fully equipped with his entire collection of only 2 vinyl’s his journey as a DJ began….

Sean Oxley is a well known name in the South African Dance music scene and he has boasted a number of residencies at some of Jo-burg and Cape Towns finest and top rated nightclubs. This list is endless and includes a few of the following legendary S.A venues, 96 Degrees (Roesbank), DNA (Pretoria), E.S.P (End Street), Nexus (Randburg), Madison’s (Midrand), El Divine (Pretoria),Krypton (Rose Faze 2 (Midrand), Bump (Midrand), Stop 1 (Roesbank) and Rhodes House (C.P.T). Besides these residencies Sean has also featured at many other venues across the country which include, Evolution (Pretoria), Millennium, Alcazar, Tramps , LBZ, Headquarters, Twilo, Cafe Brazil, Bang Bang Club, Sliver, Faze 2, Stardust, Zone, Liquid, Chevelle, Sunday Satisfaction and Sunnyside Up the list is endless.
If ever you have been at a Party that Sean was ripping up, you would definately have known it because just as the music he plays cannot be ignored or be played in the background un noticed ... He is exactly the same always so full of the energy, his music has gets him hyped up & energized Its only a matter of minutes before everyone around him has also been taken in by his never ending energy and unique way of interacting with the crowd. Sean has been known on many occasions to simply take off his headphones, run onto the floor and just get down with everyone dancing, then rushing back up with just enough time to make sure the beats don’t stop.
Sean has also placed 6th in the finals of the Toyota Conquest SA Battle of the DJ’s competition at Electric Workshop 1999. The competition ran over 4 months and hosted 15 000 people on the final night & over 2000 Dj entries. He also placed 3rd in the OLA SA Battle of the DJ’s comp which final was held at Park station in 2001.
Sean has played at a number of the major events/venues over the years nationally and has got to play alongside some of the Industries top name DJ’s and Artists. Incl Carl Cox, DJ Sammy, Sasha and John Digweed, Cosmic Gate, Brooklyn Bounce, Anne Savage, Lisa Lashes, Tiesto, Perfect Phaze, Dj Jean and Mac Zimms, Groove Armada. Some of the Parties and Festivals he has played at include- I.C.E, H2O, Lucky Strike Parties (Cyprus Hill & Wheetus), E.S.P (Slippery and Wet and Street parties) Splash, Big Bang in the Bush, Storm Troopers (Israel) and Underground (Hong Kong), Seven Sins (Athens, Greece), Kalua (Mykonos, Greece)
Although Sean’s has been recognized to be one of the most versatile dj’s on the scene and can pretty much play any genre from old school classic’s to funky house to progressive,tech house, minimal and even trance. Since arriving in the last year in London he has played many gigs at Ministry Of Sound in The Gallery alongside Feddie Le Grand, Marco V, Markus Schultz, Sander Van Doorn, Hernan Cateano, Gavyn Mitchell, Tobie Allen. He played at the opening of Electric Brixton formerly known as The Fridge alongside Felix Da House Cat. New Years Eve Full on Ferry at Brixton Academy. Boat party alongside Jonathan Ulysses. He also played at Above & Beyond, Hedkandi Bar, and also recently played at the infamous Egg nightclub alongside Corrupted Dj's Audiophiles & Chus & Penn. Since being back in Cape Town Sean played at New Years Eve Street Carnival in Green point seeing in 2013, he has played at Mykonos in Langebaan & he has been playing as a resident Dj at Shimmy Beach Club which is one of Cape Towns current hotspots.
