Biography

SHABAAM SAHDEEQ AKA S-DUB IS BACK TO HIS FUTURE! S-DUB is recognized and respected as one of Brooklyn's most promising artist today and is no novice to the music industry. He reached first fame with the legendary Rawkus Records and has featured alongside music icons such as Busta Rhymes, Redman, Method Man, Kool G Rap, Common, Mos Def and Eminem. He's also worked with Some of the games biggest producers such as Alchemist, Hi-Tek, Ayatollah just to name a few. His distinct voice and unique delivery catapulted him to mainstream stardom on the "Simon Says" Remix along side label mate Pharoahe Monch himself. S-DUB is nationally recognized for his work on the classic SOUND BOMBING series which dominated radio in the late 90's into the early 2000's. At this point he was in perfect position to launch his solo album on Rawkus Records. Unfortunately do to the label's loss of distribution his solo project was never released and he would ask for a release from the label to solidify a new situation with the up and coming label Raptivism. In 2002 the talented artist re emerged with the banging single "Bubbling"on Raptivism Records and again set his mark on radio across the country but soon after fate would intervene as he was shot in a street altercation that almost cost him his life. Unable to perform and generate capital off the single S-DUB soon returned to the street life he tried to escape through music and shortly after found himself sentenced to a six year prison sentence of which he served three years and was released in late 2005. GUESS WHOS BACK HOME? S-DUB WILL NOT LOSE ! In prison S-DUB took time to reflect on his reality and the moves that landed him behind bars. He vowed upon his release to recommit himself to his music and make his dreams a reality by any means. Since his 2005 release he has been trailblazing through New York's independent scene once again and blessing stages all over. His undeniable grind is again reminding the industry why he was the next promising allstar on the Rawkus line up back in 2000. He is currently releasing independent cd after cd and again setting his mark in today's music climate. S-DUB's recent work has been receiving rave reviews in some of the biggest hiphop publications and he has even set his mark on todays digital game as his relentless work ethic continues.
