Debut album "Disarm" now available!

She Makes War is the solo project of Laura Kidd aka @warriorgrrl - multi-instrumentalist vocal chameleon (past collaborators include The Young Punx, Redroche, Michael Gray, Koolwah and Super Mal), videomaker, blogger, sometime session musician (previously for I Blame Coco, Tricky and Alex Parks) and strident purveyor of grungey dystopian gloom-pop.

Laura spent the last couple of years squeezing solo shows in between far flung tour dates with other bands, releasing home-recorded EP "Three...Two...One" in June 2009 as a limited edition art piece to mark the end of South East London's Apollo Project and holing up at Studio B in Hackney in December 2009 to record her debut solo album, armed with 41 demos and an assortment of toys - from her trusty Thinline '69 to a battered dictaphone.

The 13 track album was completed in 17 days, co-produced by Laura and Myles Clarke (Samuel and the Dragon, Sneaker Pimps, Moshi Moshi) and featuring guest appearances from Djevara frontman Bass and harpist Kat Arney. Tales of love, loss, betrayal, homicide, genocide, crap friends and animal urges are swathed in poetry and intrigue and unleashed in the form of carefully crafted, powerful alt-pop songs - the props of war litter the lyrics, the bombs, bullets and blood acting as symbols for the battles we face daily in life and love.

In a world where every conceivable tool is at the savvy musician's disposal Laura is in her element: blogging, creating visual content and reaching out personally to her growing fanbase around the globe, connecting and collaborating.

Debut album "Disarm" was released internationally on 1st September 2010.
