Biography

Taking influences from a varied and eclectic past, Ben O’Connor & Jon Verde AKA Sick Elektrik combine to produce quality, underground, electronic music right across the board from hands up House to groovy, chugging Tech House and Techno.

Début releases "The Sunrise", "Sax Offender" and ‘Gypsy Kings’ have had massive support from the likes of Denis Ferrer, David Tort, Jonathan Peters and also featured alongside Afrojack, Laidback Luke and Steve Angello on Summer Clubbing 4 for Nervous Records NYC.

‘Gypsy Kings’ also charted high amongst the big hitters in the Beatport top 100 and hit the number 1 spot on the Nervous Records download chart! Forthcoming single "Rebound" has already charted at the number 3 spot in Fuzzy Hair’s DJ Chart while on promo and blew up on its release in late September.

The duo have plenty more up their sleeves with a huge remix of Space Ibiza Resident Elio Riso’s ‘Curiosity Killed the Sax’ on Oliver Lang's Dojo Music on the way and more releases on Nervous Records and too on Whartone Records including a remix for owner, Sonny Wharton the duo certainly look to have a busy end to the year.

Clubbers have seen the pair raise the roof at various events and festivals from the Wickerman festival in Scotland to the Residents Terrace at Creamfields 2 years in a row! An amalgamation of 3 deck mixes and mind blowing use of the Pioneer EFX 1000, DJM 800 and Native Instruments Maschine set Sick Elektrik apart as a highly technical act.

With big new remixes and collaborations in the pipeline, a solid network of gigs and a steady stream of original material on the way, the pair are looking towards 2011 with eager anticipation and an appetite to match.
