A lifelong lover of music, Sierra ONE is heavily influenced by Electronic Music, House, “Big Beat”, Rave, Breakbeat Hardcore and the big sounds of 90s Dance Music. Listening to a variety of music at an early age, Sierra ONE was drawn in by the house and beats sounds of the late 80s and early 90s house from the likes of Coldcut, Beatmasters, Adamski, Together, The Prodigy and Altern 8. While he was far too young to go to raves in the early and mid 90s, his experiences were all about what tapes he could listen to either at home or on his trusty Walkman. With the late 90s and early 2000s meaning many nightclub experiences and a trip to Ibiza, the passion for Dance Music heightened and he often wondered during these years what it would be like to DJ but was unsure where to begin. That finally changed in 2005 when he learned to mix vinyl, being tutored by notable Producer & DJ Red Rack’em. He secured a few gigs in Nottingham playing House & Funky House in 2007 until work and life commitments took over and he reluctantly stopped before he had really got started.

Frustrated over the intervening years, he returned in 2020 determined to make up for lost time. Sierra ONE became part of the MyDJHub group (formed by Slipmatt, Atomic Hooligan & Mark XTC) playing live sets for MyDJHub while also fulfilling a life ambition of playing on the radio and securing radio slots at Energy 1058 and Shed FM. 2021 evolved; playing for Raiders of the Lost Rave events in addition to setting up his own online streaming event “Hardcore Takeover” (focusing on the old skool hardcore sounds of the 90s) with events in May and July of that year. Sierra ONE continued with regular radio and his biggest development of 2021 was his move to Eruption Radio UK in July 2021 where he currently holds a Tuesday night residency.

Sierra ONE’s main musical focus is on fresh music and he plays a range of House, Funky/Jackin House, Progressive House and Melodic Techno in addition to Breaks, Nu Skool Breaks and his favoured trips ‘back in time’ to Classic and Old Skool House, Dance, Rave & Hardcore. Often his sets are a fusion of the old and new.
