Sorley’s sound is best described as a one of infectious grooves, tantalising bass riffs, acute vocal hooks and signature stabs.
Born into a family submerged in music, rhythm and groove beats through his soul. His Father, a key member in the late 90’s collective ‘Unique 3’ inspired a generation with his signature sound, with Sorley’s ambitions in sight to join him.
Hailing from the North East, Sunderland, His DJ career first began when founding club night ‘HAZE’ in his hometown. Sorley created a scene in the city, booking and playing alongside international artists such as Nic Fanciulli, Heidi, Deetron with the addition of further heavyweights such as Patrick Topping, Solardo, Dense & Pika and Roger Sanchez.
Off the back of his events and productions, Sorley has secured sets and showcases around the UK & Europe, the pinnacle being a Hideout Festival Pool Party at Noa Beach Club 3 years running, adding further appearances at Parklife, MiNT Festival, Warehouse Project, Shindig, Sankeys and Dublins notorious District 8 to his calendar.
His debut release which came on Riva Starr’s infamous Snatch imprint saw his ‘She Freeks’ EP Climb straight to the top of the release charts bagging that Number 1 top spot which has since caught the eyes and ears of DJ’s & Labels alike.
Sat on an ever-growing collection of original productions his unreleased track ‘Deadeye’ is the most sought after. Having gained the prime time ‘Friday Fire’ feature from BBC1 legend Danny Howard, has seen their working relationship grow by locking in 2 Solid EP’s on his label Nothing Else Matters.
National recognition continues to blossom, working his way through the ‘BBC Introducing Music’ program, played locally, then nationally on Huw Stephens show. Being the most-talked about up-comer in the Introducing circle, he was invited to play their 3-day Music Conference Showcase at Tobacco Dock in November 2019, supporting industry icons, Pete Tong, Hot Since 82, Danny Howard & More, where he had the honour of handing over to The Queen Of Radio herself, Annie Mac.
Another very special & personal moment was supporting Hot Creations/Hot Natured & Repopulate Mars Founder, Lee Foss. A new wave legend who had inspired him very early in finding his love for Dance music culture, an unexpected B2B occurred with the pair, a relationship formed and a moment to savour.
With plenty of releases and a calendar bursting with great gigs, 2020 is going to be the year for Sorley, living by his motto of ‘believe and achieve’ the sky is just the limit for his dreams and visions, so keep your eyes pealed and your ears open…
