A dusty drum computer and the inspiration from forgotten 90’s rave cassette tapes were all that was needed to get Sota (NL) hooked on the craft of creating electronic music. DJ’ing for some time already in Amsterdam’s upcoming minimal scene helped to shape his sound and develop an appetite for the stripped-back, abstract flavors of house music. This also led him to Berlin a few years laters, starting a steady stream of releases on renowned record labels such as Up The Stuss Rubisco, NCSS (Sukhumvit) and Daydream and DJ’ing at places like the infamous Golden Gate club. Today, Sota (NL) continues to serve a tasteful blend of quirky minimal and uplifting house, be it in the booth or in the studio.
