Like the name suggests $tush is an eclectic fusion of $ophistication, $treet savvy and $ex appeal. Hailing from South London this Princess of the Underground first graced the garage scene in 2001 with her dance floor anthem, “Dollar $ign”. An undisputed raver's favorite, her debut set clubs alight up and down the country as the masses drew to her unique lyrics and melodic style. From this point onwards the momentum was incredible and within a matter of months, $tush was both a role model and icon for girls who warmed to her Cindy Lauper, “Girls just wanna have fun” attitude. .. In 2002 $tush signed a major recording deal with Universal and since then she has worked with premier music makers such as Wyclef and Needle’s, (50 cent, G Unit). In no hurry to churn out an album for the sake of it she has spent her time understanding her art and refining it to perfection. .. An artist with undisputed staying power, there is an interesting story behind $tush’s rise to the top. With her root’s firmly embedded in Jamaica, she first embraced her love of music through the old school classics of Garnet Silk, Sizzla and the legendary Bob Marley. Growing up her parents taught her to appreciate and understand the importance of her culture and it was by reading the history books and appreciating her father’s vinyl collection that this became possible. .. 2007 will undoubtedly be a very busy year for $tush. She hopes to release material from her debut album and in the build up to this she has featured on the new Groove Armada single, “Get Down”, which is the first release off the new album, “Sound Boy Rock”. This track has already secured a Top Ten position in the UK Singles chart and a No. 4 position in the Australian download chart thus creating an exciting buzz amongst her fans. It has also opened her up to entirely new market of music lovers ranging from acclaimed critics to established artists such as 50 cent who recently declared on Tim Westwood’s Radio 1 Show that $tush was his favorite UK Rapper. .. As to be expected $tush will be on a grueling promotional tour over the next couple of months. She has already toured Australia, New Zealand and the UK and performed on Channel Four’s, Transmission and Popworld programs. Scheduled appearances on The Jool’s Holland show and Jo Wileys live lounge are also in the pipeline. .. With a promising career ahead of her and armed with a hit single under her belt $tush is destined for further success and after fine tuning herself as the UK’s most anticipated breath of fresh air the wait is now over and the return of $tush is finally here.
