Tamara Young has performed live on BBC Radio 3’s ‘In Tune’ as their visiting solo artist alongside members of the Berlin Philharmonic Orchestra, and has won numerous accolades such as first prize at the Camac Harp Competition, London, The John Marson harp prize for most outstanding and creative musician and was a finalist in the Royal Over Seas League music competition.
Tamara enjoys a varied and colourful freelance career both in the UK and abroad. She has performed many solo recitals most recently at Cheltenham Town Hall as well as St Martin-in-the-Fields and across the pond in Paris, Munich and Israel. As a soloist she has performed Mozart’s Concerto for Flute and Harp, Debussy’s Danses and most recently Ravel’s Introduction and Allegro live on Radio 3 from Snape Maltings with the Mahler Chamber Orchestra. Other Collaborations have included performing at Regent’s Park Open Air Theatre, Ronnie Scott’s Jazz Club with Sir John Dankworth and live on ITV’s Daybreak breakfast show. Tamara is a Concordia Artist and has been a Selected Artist for Making Music's Concert Promoter's Group with her flute and harp duo Syrinx . She has freelanced with the London Philharmonic Orchestra, Orchestra of the Royal Opera House. Royal Philharmonic Orchestra, Northern Ballet Sinfonia, BBC Scottish Symphony Orchestra, and the Norwegian National Opera House Orchestra, Oslo, amongst others.

Born in Kent, Tamara first studied with Kay Sheehan-Swift and graduated with first class honours from Trinity Laban Conservatoire of Music and Dance with Gabriella Dall’Olio where she also completed her Master’s degree. She continued her studies at the Hochschule f�r Music und Theater, Munich where she completed her Zertifikattsstudium Miesterklasse under Professor Cristina Bianchi.
