The Nightingales refers to at least three artists: 1) A Birmingham, UK post-punk / alternative band (now known as Nightingales), formed in 1979.
2) A soul group (aka Ollie & The Nightingales).
3) A Finnish band. 1) A Birmingham, UK post-punk / alternative band, formed by former members of the city's original punk group The Prefects, in November 1979. With an ever fluctuating line up, based around lyricist/singer Robert Lloyd, the band recorded a bunch of singles, three albums and many radio sessions for John Peel, before it stopped working in 1987.
