From the word GO they were set to stars… No this is not just another two seaside guys, this industry has watched the rising of these two talented stars. Their game plan was created by Oliver Portamento & Alex Powell, who have been working together for many years not just as budding DJs but also as successful Promoters, Event Organisers & Producers. Taking influences from sources such as Oldskool Hip Hop & Rave then artfully fusing it with today’s modern House, Electro & more experimental genres such as Dub Step, Drum n’ Bass & even Trance. By cut n’ pasting these together, adding chopped vocals & colossal breakdowns they have created a unique ‘big room’ sound that has closed the ranks between the styles. In which creating the insane heavyweight impact on the dance floor. Strap on your boots!
Their productions and remixes have received consistent airing by a countless list of elite radio & club DJ’s as well as other well known DJ’s and radio stations such as BBC Radio 1 - Judge Jules, Kiss100, The Loose Cannons & Galaxy 105 - Riley & Durrant.
Over 15 years of DJing experience between them and having graced some of the world’s rarest clubs, events, warehouses & festivals such as: Global Underground, Ministry Of Sound (London), Mixmag Warehouse, Afterparty Castle Party, Electrik Playground, Privilege (Ibiza), and Reclaim The Dance Floor (Voted Mixmag’s #1 Night Worldwide) at Eden (Ibiza). They have also worked alongside some of the world’s biggest artists including: Tiesto, 2ManyDJs, Annie Mac, Kissy Sell Out, The Scratch Perverts, Utah Saints, Fake Blood, Jack Beats, Dave Spoon, Riley & Durrant and Doorly to name a few.
Currently The Squatters are clocking up the hours in the studio working on new productions & remixes just for you. All the while performing international DJ sets as a duo, and also doing justice alongside vocalist & beat boxer Dutch Courage in their new live show. Taking tracks from the forthcoming album set to be released in 2010.
