Named after a Townes van Zandt song, Turnstile Junkpile is a British Americana band based in London. Their music is guitar-led, retro and country-influenced making a feature of harmonies and the pedal steel. Their influences include The Band and Neil Young and Crazy Horse. Formed in 2009, members are Mat Clark (songs, lead guitar and vocals); Ben Sumner (pedal steel, lap steel and banjo); Dave Shaw on drums; and Lawrence McMcnamara on bass.
