Undercolour’s journey started in the musical melting pot of Manchester. Frontwoman Steff (20), guitarists Ste (23) and Tony (21) and bassist Ste L (22), joining Scott (22) all met collectively studying music performance and technology. It wasn't until early 2010 however that the band was formed - forged by friendship and bonded by a love of great music. After finishing college the band packed their bags and left their home city to move to Bristol where some of the members attended Bristol Institute of Modern Music. About to start their second year, their musical qualifications are now racking up with most of the band now as high as Grade 8 in both theory and rockschool for their instruments.
Speaking of the band frontwoman Steff says... “We’ve all been friends for years and we’ve all grown together as musicians. It's all we've ever wanted to be. We have a wide range of influences and I think that has helped us as a band ranging from pop - metal. I’d love for people to listen to us and think we sound like Undercolour rather than one specific band. I hope people don’t look at me and think we must be like Paramore simply because I’m a girl fronting a rock band.”
