Marco Socías is one of Spain’s very best classical guitarists. Born in Málaga, into a family of guitarists, he became at the age of 21 the youngest guitar professor in Spain, and has been awarded 1st Prizes in some of the most prestigious international competitions, such as the Infanta Cristina, Fundación Guerrero, Madrid, Le Printemps de la Guitare, Belgium and the Concorso Internazionale di Gargnano in Italy. He tours widely in Europe, the US, the far east and Latin America in prestigious venues such as the Concergebouw, Amsterdam, Konzerthaus, Vienna, Auditorio Nacional, Madrid and the Philharmonie, Berlin. He has recorded 8 highly successful CDs including an outstanding live recording of Joaquín Rodrigo’s Concierto de Aranjuez for Harmonia Mundi with the Orquesta Ciudad de Granada conducted by Josep Pons.
