Ziegler Co. are a four piece band based in South East London consisting of a 2013 Goldsmith’s graduate, a misanthropic bumpkin-bookworm, a third guy. The drum stool is becoming a Spinal Tap black hole of chart toppers and flip floppers.
The band’s first release, the Roll Up EP, was recorded anywhere and anytime it could be; bedrooms, actor’s basements, soundproofed sheds etc. and features Ribot-esque guitars, metallic percussion and three part harmonies. They played several impromptu acoustic gigs around the cafe stages at Glastonbury 2011 after recording ‘Bad Men’ at the on-site Cowshed studio. The band has attracted critical acclaim from indie radio and magazines, appearing in EyeSeeSound.tv, GigSlutz, and Sound On Sound. They also won the prestigious, glorious, ambiguous Sydenham Arts Festival Battle of the Bands. They have gone down well with the French and released their second EP, Portraiture, in October 2014 on Foof Records.
Morgan and Prid came to London after their University band imploded on stage at The Sunflower Lounge. Fraser and Morgan both hail from up north and knew of each other through their respective bands (Trigger Hippies and Body Coda) and sought each other out in the Capital. Morgan is a published poet and enjoys a good Moet. Prid is Welsh for ‘mate’ (it is not fitting) and he enjoys rock climbing. Fraser keeps himself to himself; he is also a handy cook.
