Sprechen Presents...The Utopia Strong & Konformer

Strap yourself in & prepare for a voyage into the kaleidoscope soundscapes and an expansion of your consciousness via live performances by both The Utopia Strong and Konformer at a very special Sprechen Presents showcase.

For a 3rd time we welcome back semi-modular trio The Utopia Strong to the Sprechen embrace. Delivering medical grade music to the visionary music heads, the tripped out trio consists of Kavus Torabi (Cardiacs, Gong, Knifeworld), Michael York (Teleplasmiste, The Other Without) and Steve Davis (yes, the former World Snooker Champion) who have fused modular synthesisers with conventional and traditional instruments to create a weird and joyous celebration of all that is good about left field psychedelic music.

Signed to our very good friends at Before I Die, Konformer from Nuremberg in Germany. The creation of their minimalist, rhythmic and repetitive groove patterns commence with bass loops and develop into modified strophic form.

Comparison with the likes of early Kraftwerk and the output of cult German labels such as Brain and Sky are inevitable but Konformer sound a little bit like none of the above and perhaps summed up best by Bill Brewster: "Sounds like Neu! on valium :)"

The night will be wrapped around by musical pickings from Before I Die's very own CEO Jason Boardman alongside Yasmin Lever aka Small Press who screen printed the debut vinyl release of Konformer!
